Inkless Stretch Mark Revision (ISR)
A Non-Invasive Solution for Smoother, Healthier Skin

What is ISR?

Inkless Stretch Mark Revision (ISR) is an advanced stretch mark and scar treatment that uses a specialized tattoo machine with fine needles to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Instead of implanting pigment (as with camouflage tattooing), ISR works by delivering a vitamin-rich healing serum deep into the skin, enhancing the body’s natural ability to repair and fade stretch marks over time.

This method is widely used in both the beauty and dermatology industries to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity, making stretch marks less visible and more blended with your natural skin.

How Does ISR Work?

  • A rotary tattoo machine with a precise needle configuration creates controlled micro-injuries in the stretch marks.

  • A custom vitamin serum is applied, which is absorbed deeply into the skin to nourish and repair damaged tissue.

  • The skin responds by producing more collagen and elastin, reducing the appearance of stretch marks and scars over time.

Unlike microneedling, which typically uses smaller needles or derma rollers, ISR uses a slightly larger needle for deeper penetration, allowing for better absorption of healing serums and enhanced results.

Who is a Good Candidate for ISR?

ISR is safe for all skin tones and ethnicities. However, clients with Fitzpatrick skin types 4, 5, or 6 may require a patch test to ensure they do not experience excessive pigmentation changes.

You may be a great candidate for ISR if:
✅ You have healed stretch marks or scars (not red, pink, or purple)
✅ You want a non-invasive treatment to improve skin texture
✅ You do not have a history of keloid scarring or chronic skin conditions

ISR is not recommended for individuals who are:
🚫 Pregnant or nursing
🚫 Taking Accutane (must wait at least 6 months after stopping)
🚫 Experiencing infections, skin cancer, or active skin conditions in the treatment area

Where Can ISR Be Performed?

ISR is effective on any area of the body where stretch marks or scars are present, including:
✔️ Stomach
✔️ Thighs
✔️ Arms
✔️ Hips
✔️ Buttocks
✔️ Breasts

When Can ISR Be Done?

ISR should only be performed after the stretch marks or scars have fully healed. This means:

  • Red, pink, or purple stretch marks are still healing and not yet ready for treatment.

  • Most stretch marks take about a year to fully heal before ISR can be performed.

  • If you are still experiencing weight fluctuations, it’s best to wait until your weight stabilizes for long-lasting results.

How Long Do Results Last?

ISR results can last for years, provided you:

  • Maintain a stable weight

  • Follow a healthy skincare routine

  • Do not experience new skin damage in the treated area

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

🚫 Avoid blood-thinning medications (like ibuprofen) for two days before and one day after your session.
🚫 No Accutane for at least six months prior to treatment.
🚫 Do not schedule ISR if you are pregnant or nursing.

ISR Aftercare Instructions

Proper aftercare is essential for the best results. Follow these steps:

Immediately After Treatment:

  • Apply a cold compress with witch hazel or aloe vera to soothe the skin.

First 2 Weeks:

  • Keep the area hydrated by applying coconut oil or Aquaphor twice daily (or as needed).

After 2 Weeks (Until Your Next Session):

  • Use Cicaplast Gel or Balm twice a day, massaging it into the treated area to support healing.
